    Dr Edward Koh leads the Conventions, Meetings & Incentive Travel division of the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau, a group under the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), since 2019. He provides strategic counsel to attract quality association congresses and corporate-driven events to Singapore, maintaining its position as a leading International Convention and Meetings destination. 

    Edward also oversees local industry growth to further entrench Singapore as a business events destination. In his previous appointment, Edward assumed the position of Executive Director, Southeast Asia since January 2015. 

    Edward led the overall operations of STB in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei. He also oversaw all strategic planning and execution of marketing activities within these markets to champion Singapore as a compelling tourist destination. 

    Prior to that, Edward served as Executive Director for Southeast Asia I and International Group Planning in March 2014 where he led the Division in providing critical policy and planning support for the Regional Offices and working with in-market industry partners to drive tourism growth. 

    He was the Executive Director for Strategy & Planning and Research & Incentives in November 2011, responsible for the provision of economic analysis, consumer insights and market trends to the tourism sector. Edward brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the China market. He previously served as Deputy Regional Director for STB Greater China (2006-2008), where he was responsible for strategic planning and channel development to drive BTMICE traffic from China to Singapore. He subsequently assumed the role as Regional Director for STB Greater China (2008-2011), where he managed and oversaw five Regional Offices: Eastern China, Northern China, Southern China, Western China, and Hong Kong & Macau and provided strategic direction for his team to effectively promote Singapore as a compelling destination and hub for business and travel. 

    Before joining the STB, Edward spent 13 years at the Ministry of Manpower, where he held various positions in its Prosecution Unit, Manpower Policy Department, International Manpower Division and Contact Singapore. 

    His last position was as the Regional Director (Greater China) for Contact Singapore and concurrently the Deputy Director (International Operations), International Manpower Division. He was also the Alternate Lead Negotiator (Movement of Natural Persons), China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (CSFTA) for the period of 2004-2005.  Updated as at 27 May 2019 Edward graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science, and Beijing University in 2003 with a second Bachelor's degree (Chinese Language & Literature). 
    He also holds a Master degree in Public Policy & Management (2007) from Tsinghua University, and a doctorate in Hotel & Tourism Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Hotel & Tourism Management.

Milken Institute Asia Center
    Laura Deal Lacey is the executive director of the Milken Institute Asia Center based in Singapore. 

    She was the institute’s first employee in Asia and has built its center, programs and activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

    Prior to joining the Institute, Deal Lacey was the executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce, Singapore's the largest American chamber in Southeast Asia. She and her team organized 300 business events a year, hosted regional business missions, and released research and white papers on policy issues. Acting as the face of the organization, Deal Lacey represented the interest of U.S. companies in Singapore and helped advance policy and business issues that American companies face in Southeast Asia.

    Before moving to Asia, Deal Lacey was based in New York. She was the global marketing director for Edelman, where she worked out of the CEO's office to promote the agency, its leadership and intellectual capital. She also worked as a vice president for Edelman's corporate social responsibility and sustainability practice.

    Deal Lacey started her career in Europe. She worked for six years at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Geneva, Switzerland. She held several roles including senior partnership manager, head of corporate affairs and co-founder of WEF's Women Leaders Programme, aimed at increasing the participation of women leaders at WEF events. Her first job was at Reuters.

    Deal Lacey is a Trustee of the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh and supports its efforts to build a university that transforms the status of women in the region. She is also an independent, non-executive director on two corporate boards -- the SGX listed company Pacific Century Regional Development (PCRD) and FWD Insurance (Singapore). 
    She is an associate member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.

    A dual citizen of Brazil and the U.S., Deal Lacey holds a B.S. from Arizona State University and an M.S. from Columbia University.

Marina Bay Sands
    Mr Ong Wee Min serves as the Vice President of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) at Marina Bay Sands.

    In this role, he is responsible for the overall management of the Sands Expo & Convention Centre to ensure its continued success as the top business events and MICE venue in the region.

    Prior to his promotion, Weemin was the Executive Director of Sales at Marina Bay Sands and is responsible for Marina Bay Sands’ sales and marketing processes and activities for the various market segments in Association Meetings, Tradeshows and Events both locally and internationally.

    In this role, he is responsible for bringing in various first-to-Asia trade shows and exhibitions to Marina Bay Sands. These include iconic events such as Maison & Objet Asia, Lions Club International Convention, Tax Free World Association Asia Pacific and Milipol Asia.

    Prior to joining Marina Bay Sands in 2012, Wee Min last served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Suntec Singapore where he oversaw all commercial activities and strategic development for both Suntec Singapore as well as Suntec International, the international venue consultancy arm of Suntec.

    Recognized as one of the most respected and experienced MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) professionals in the region with extensive experience in both venue operations and sales, Wee Min has played critical leadership roles in the planning, execution and delivery of the largest and most iconic events that Singapore has hosted in the past 15 years such as Rotary International, SIBOS, The Annual Meeting of the Governors of the World Bank and IMF and the Asia Pacific Economic Community (APEC) Leaders Week. In 2016, Wee Min was voted as the Young MICE Professional of the Year by the Asian Federation of Convention & Exhibition Associations (AFECA).

    As part of his effort to contribute to the industry, Wee Min currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) on a 3 year term starting 2017. Wee Min is the first Asian Meeting Professional to be appointed to the Board of Directors for PCMA.
    Since 2013, Wee Min has been active in the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organizers & Suppliers (SACEOS). Wee Min is credited with the successful restructuring of the professional development framework for the Singapore MICE industry through the conceptualization and implementation of globally recognized industry accreditation standards (CMP and CEM) in Singapore and the region. Weemin also serves on the faculty of the AIPC Academy annually to help nurture the next generation talent in global business events venue management.
    Wee Min holds a Bachelor in Economics from the National University of Singapore with a second major in Political Science. He is Singapore’s first graduate of the Public Venue Management School in Australia and holds a CMP certification from the Convention Industry Council as well as a CEM certification from the International Association of Exhibition and Events.

    Sven joined AIPC as CEO in May 2020. 
    Together with the Board, the Members and the Business Partners he will be spearheading a transformation programme which will result into an entirely new value proposal to Convention and Exhibition Centres across the globe based on the changing needs of the members and the challenges they are facing.

    Before joining AIPC, Sven worked as managing director at ESTRO (European Society for Radiation Oncology). He successfully led the branding, marketing and digital transformation of ESTRO – a massive project which was finalized in April 2020. It included a full re-branding, implementation of a new CMS and CRM system, the creation and implementation of a marketing strategy and a complete re-vamp of the annual congress.

    Prior to joining ESTRO, Sven worked for 20 years in the financials services world. The first 10 years of his career he worked as an international programme manager at ING, followed by 10 years at SWIFT – the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications. 

    At SWIFT, Sven oversaw Sibos – SWIFT’ s flagship event which brings together over 8,000 decision takers form over 150 countries for 4 days to discuss the common challenges the financial community faces and the common solutions to be put in place.
    Sven holds a degree in anthropology. He works and lives in Belgium, has two children and loves to read.

    Miguel is an experienced events professional and a passionate social media advocate and who speaks, consults, and trains on the topics of social media, digital marketing and event technology.

    Miguel started his career as an event planner and since 2009 he’s focused on technology and online communication. From 2011 to 2017 he developed the IMEX Group’s digital content and social media presence. Since 2017 Miguel has worked independently as, helping event professionals develop social media and digital communication strategies.

    Miguel holds a masters degree in Conference and Events Management from the University of Westminster and has certified as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a Digital Event Strategist (DES). 
    He sits on the International Board of Directors of Meeting Professionals International and is past-Chair of Events Industry Council’s Industry Insights Committee.
